If your child wants to dress up in an astronaut costume, you should most definitely encourage it. Dressing up as an astronaut, or any career choice actually, is a fab thing to do If your child has dreams, let them imagine those dreams; they may even come true. And if your child is not aspiring to be an astronaut, but wants to be a policeman or a firefighter, this too is just fine. And if they prefer to be a bear or a bee, or a big green dinosaur, that is just perfect as well. Dressing up is all part of growing up and having a healthy imagination is a really good thing to have, especially for a child. Imagining and playing fantasy games encourages creativity and growth amongst kids. Let your kids be whoever they want to be, so long as it is appropriate. And it is always appropriate to be an astronaut.

Today, anyone can dress up as a doctor. Let your child lead you as to who and what they would like to dress up as, and don’t try and persuade them otherwise. They know who they want to be.
